Bên dưới ca-pô xe điện có gì?

Unlike cars that use internal combustion engines, under the bonnet of an electric car you may not see the electric motor.

The rapid development of electric vehicles makes many curious about what lies under the bonnet of the car. Usually, a car using an internal combustion engine, when opening the bonnet, hits your eye will be the engine in the middle, but with electric cars it is different.

At the front of the car of popular electric models, under the bonnet there are parts such as a battery (not a car battery pack), a cooling system, a voltage converter. There are also electronic power controllers, which are usually located just above the front electric motor if the electric vehicle uses front-wheel drive. Here are the basic parts under the bonnet of an electric car:

Cấu tạo cơ bản của xe điện.

The basic structure of electric vehicles.

Charge controller: is responsible for taking the AC (AC) power supplied through the charging port and converting them into DC (one-way) power to charge the battery. This unit monitors the parameters of the battery such as voltage, voltage, temperature and state of charge.

– Battery: in an electric drive vehicle, the auxiliary battery power the on-board devices to operate.

– DC / DC converter: this device converts the high-pressure DC source from the battery into the low-voltage DC source needed for the on-board devices to operate and recharge the regular battery.

– Power electronic control unit: this unit manages the flow of electrical energy supplied by the battery, controlling the speed of the electric motor and the torque it generates. This part is usually located in the middle of the engine compartment, easily mistaken for an electric motor.

– Cooling system: This system maintains an appropriate operating temperature range of the electric motor and other components.

– Glass washing system: front / rear glass washing system for car glass.

When you open the hood of the electric car and ask “where is the engine”, the answer may technically be “no”, as it is possible that the motor is hidden deep underneath, in the case of one more motor at the rear.
